Happy Late B-Day Sarah

A few weekend back we celebrated on of my dear friends birthday's! We had a blast and wish the party would have gone on all night!!!

Happy Birthday Sarah! Love you and wish you the best 26th year!

The BIG Soccer Game!

Last Sunday Jay's soccer team played the 1st place team in the league. At the time Jay's team was in second place, but 90 minutes and 4 goals later they are now in 1st place!

It was an exciting game with all 4 goals in the first half. It was so fun to watch and see Jay get excited about the game and his goals. One of the most exciting parts of the game was when Jay was fouled and got a free kick. The other team made blockade wall but that didn't stop him from scoring! I wish I would had gotten it on video but I was lucky enough to get a photo. You will see below the ball is just past the wall.

Way to go Kicking and Screaming!!! (That is their team name.)

New Toys and things!

I never thought I would be so excited to get a new vacuum... but I was greatly mistaken. Last weekend Jay and I finally bit the bullet and made a few large purchases.

As I'm sure most of you have been through and can attest to finding the right bedroom furniture can be a long, hard process. Well that was the case for us. We had been searching for months and months and nothing quite stood out to us. But then we found a beautiful collection at Macy's and began to wait it out and watch the price until we were ready to purchase. Well a few weekends ago the price finally went down and we decided to go for it. We got a heck of a deal and were very proud for waiting for the right time to buy. Now that we purchased the bed the search began for the mattress. That is completely another challenge.

You go to the mattress store and tell the sales associate what you like, or should I say what you think you like, and they tell you to lay on 100's of beds... how can I tell the difference between bed 11 and bed 88... We were on overload and just couldn't make a decision. It was exhausting so we decided we could take our time being the furniture was on back order and we had time.

So we finally made a decision on the mattress and also got a heck of a deal! If you are mattress shopping go online and price compare online... print out the prices you find, if they are lower of course, and bring them into the store and 9 times out of 10 they will honor the lower price. And in our case they matched the lower price and gave us an addition 10% off and FREE delivery!!! We purchased from Mattress Firm, but I'm pretty sure others do that too. Every little bit helps right!!!

Now that we have the furniture and mattress on order and scheduled for deliver the search for bedding and drapes began... another challenging process. The bedding wasn't too difficult. We stuck with the basics... white! The drapes on the other hand have been tricky. When you shop online it is hard to tell the weight and true colors of the fabric, then we you finally get them in they weren't exactly what you thought so you have to start the process all over again. Then not to mention the curtain rod search... our window is really really big... so I had to special order an XXL rod and I just found out it is on back order till Aug. 6th so we have more waiting to do...

Our last purchase that weekend was the ever exciting Dyson DC25 Animal Vacuum!!! Now ladies if you are in the need of a new vacuum go ahead and splurge on this one... it is amazing! It was almost sicking how much dirt and yuck it picked up. I thought I was good about keeping a clean house, but after using the Dyson I was corrected! This vacuum actually makes cleaning a little more enjoyable!

Anyways, that is the end of our new toys and stuff... we are hoping to have the furniture delivered the end of this week and have everything put together in the next two weeks. When I have it all together I will be sure to post some photos!

One more thing...

I have blogged about Jay's soccer team before, so I have to add a few more photos from this last weeks game. They tied this game 1 to 1 and Jay was the one who scored the goal! Can you tell... I'm proud of my man!!!

Where has time gone...

This summer has gone by so fast... I can't believe we are almost halfway through July. I'm sorry I have neglected the blog the last few weeks; now it is time to play catch up.

To start out I have to fill you all in on my little accident... I was working at an event 3 Saturday's ago and I fell off a chair and sprained my ankle. It was probably one of the most painful things that has ever happened to me. One of my fellow employees took me to the hospital because we were afraid it might be broken but we were relieved to find out it was only sprained and I would be on crutches and in an air cast for a week or so. Being on crutches was quite a work out. My ankle is doing much better, but not a 100% so I have now started physical therapy. I know... your probably thinking physical therapy for a sprained ankle... you must be the weakest person EVER... but let me tell you... being I was at work it is qualified under workman's comp so I have been advised to treat my ankle with sensitivity and care. So hopefully in a week or so I will be 100% and can get back on my "Bride to Be" work our schedule... and what I mean by get back on I really mean start!

The last few weeks we have been busy with work, work and more work. We did have a very successful 4th of July event - the 13th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks!! The weather held off and everything turned out wonderful. Jay and I spent the event at Landry's for the Sponsor Event and enjoyed the fireworks there. As some of you all know, my job is to take care of the sponsors for our events; so that put us at the sponsor event for the day. We had a great time and all of my sponsors were very happy! Now the real job starts... to get them to recommit for next year!

After the 4th I spent the week catching up and following up at work and trying to relax as much as possible. Then last weekend Jay and I headed up to Dallas to spend some time with his family. Jay missed Father's Day so we spent Saturday with the fam and rented a boat and enjoyed the open water with fishing, snacks and lots of sun. We had a great time and I was super impressed with Jay's boating skills... I was a little nervous at first with him as our captain... not really that he was our captain but that he was driving the boat, but he proved me wrong and was a perfect driver!!!

Our Captain and me!
The Ingram clan!

Also, on our trip to Dallas Jay and I stopped by one of my good friends from college house to see her new addition! It was a quick visit, but great to see them. Courtney and Eric, your new little boy is precious! I can't wait to see more photos of him in the weeks to come! Congrats again.

Well it is now Thursday evening and only one more day left till the weekend!!! YEAH! Also, I will do my best to post more "Almost Ingram" happenings more frequently!!! Happy Thursday everyone!
