D.C. Trip

It is nice to be home, but we had a fabulous time in D.C. this last week!  Our trip was filled with many adventures, lots of sight seeing, many laughs, lunch from a "Food Truck", a horse race, and fun memories  that we will remember always!

Wednesday... when we arrived we enjoyed a cocktail at Jessica's apartment and then went to dinner a Pho!  It was fabulous!!!  Thanks Jess for suggesting a special place!

On the way to dinner at Pho in Chinatown!

A slight detour to see the White House!

Thursday... we rented a car for the day and drove to Mt. Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery and then over the bay bridge to visit my grandparents for the evening.  It was a full day, but totally worth it!  It was so special to see my grandparents even though it was short.

George Washington's estate, Mt. Vernon!

We could have stayed here all day!  There is so much to do and see!  This is a must see for your next trip to D.C.

Arlington National Cemetery, it took my breath away.

JFK's and Jackie's tombs.

The Tomb of the Unknown Solider; we saw the changing of the guards ceremony, it was very moving.

After dinner with Mommom & Poppop!

Friday... while I slept in, Jay and Jessica went on a morning walk to breakfast then we all went on a little sight seeing tour!  Jess was the perfect tour guide!  She took us to the Portrait Gallery, then McPherson Square where we enjoyed lunch from a truck, then to the Air & Space Museum and our last stop was the Holocaust Museum.  Then for dinner we met up with great friends for a great dinner!  This was a day filled with lots of walking!!!  But we had a blast!

First time for a "Food Truck" lunch!  And I must say... it was quite interesting!  I wish The Woodlands had some food trucks!!!  That would be super fun!

Touring the Air & Space Museum!

Love these girls!!!

Great friends after dinner!

Saturday... we were up early getting ready for the big race and out the door by 9:30 off to Gold Cup 2012!  We arrived at the horse race and had an amazing time!  This was our first time to a horse race and I must say... it is a must for everyone!!!  We totally plan on going back again next year!

Ready for Gold Cup 2012!!!
