Happy 8 Months

Happy 8 Months sweet Caroline Grace!!!  Time is flying by and you are growing up way to fast!  You are doing so many fun and new things... we are so blessed to watch you grow and learn!

Sleep... Well we were doing great... about the same as last month... but we have started a new morning routine... I call it our summer time morning routine!  You wake up between 6-7ish and you take your bottle and go right back to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed!  Momma gets a few extra hours of sleep till brother wakes up around 8:30 and then you wake up around 9-9:30 and we get going for the day!  Slow summer mornings!!!  So since you sleep till 9:30ish you usually take a short cat nap around noon then a longer afternoon nap around 3 then down for bed at 7:30.  I know we will have to get back on a "normal" schedule soon since school is starting in a month or so... but we will enjoy these lazy days as long as we can!
Food... Mostly momma's milk with a few formula bottles mixed in along with your yummy baby food (we have gone through all the fruits and veggies and you like them all) and we have recently started small pieces of table food (strawberries, bananas, puffs, rice cakes, and yogurt bites and you are doing great!  Your "pincher" skills are really developing and you make it to your mouth 8 out of 10 times!  You take 4 bottles a day along with lunch and dinner... we will start breakfast soon... (my least favorite meal to add... but we will start soon!)

Play... You absolutely LOVE to play... you will sit and play on your blanket with your toys for 30+min at a time and love to explore and examine each little thing.  You enjoy your toys that play music and have entered into the "banging" stage!  You have learned to roll from your back to your tummy this month and are enjoying your tummy a bit more since you figured out you can roll around to get the toys you want!  You lung and try to scoot, but are not crawling/scooting yet... but I'm sure it will be very soon!

Things you love...
1.) Your brother - You LOVE to watch him play and are over the moon happy when he comes and plays with you!  And you don't seem to mind when he is a little too excited/rough with you either... you are just happy he is playing with you!

2.) Bath time - We have moved you out of your "baby tub" and into the big tub and you LOVE it!  You could play in there for hours if we let you.  You love to pick up each toy and examine it!  It is so fun watching you find things for the first time... like when you figured out you can scoot on you butt to get closer to the drain... you were so proud of yourself!

3.) You blanket - You love to snuggle your blanket!!  And you know when we give you your blanket it is time for nap or bed!  You nestle right into it and just get the biggest smile on your sweet face!

4.) To swim - Other than the first time we took you swimming you LOVE to swim.  You love your little float and kick your legs like a big girl.  You watch everyone and everything around you like a watch dog and have a grin from ear to ear!  You are our little water baby!

5.) Your Daddy - You have him wrapped around your sweet little fingers and he melts each time you play together!  You LOVE him and light up each day when he gets home from work!  It brings so much joy to my heart to see your relationship.
Things you don't love...
1.) Teething... You do not have any teeth yet, but we can see the bottom two teeth buds... and you defiantly have let us know you do not like the way they are making you feel.

2.) Having your face cleaned off after meals... yep... you don't like anything about it!

Your little personality is really coming though and we love to watch it come out more and more each day!  You love to the moon and back and thank God everyday for the gift you are!

Happy 6 & 7 Months sweet Caroline!

Happy 6 & 7 Months sweet Caroline!

Time is flying by and I am amazed you are already 7 months old... hints why the update is together... wish I could press the pause button!
Sleep... You are doing great!  Your schedule is something like this... wake up around 7-7:30 and have a bottle then 1st nap around 9:3ish for an hour to hour and a half (if we are out you typically only sleep an hour in your car seat), then bottle around 11ish and lunch around noon, then nap around 1ish... if we are out this is your short cat nap, then bottle at 3 and nap at 3:30-4:30, dinner 5-6ish then bath and a little play time before books and final bottle and bed at 7.
Food... The last few weeks we have gradually introduced formula but you are 90% on mommas milk.  And you are doing great with oat meal and your baby foods.  Some of your favorites include peas, sweet potatoes, carrots and squash... you were not the biggest fan of green beans or apples... we will continue to press on and go through all the fruits!  In the last week or so we have started giving you puffs and other snacks and you are getting better and better at feeding yourself.  Working on those fine motor skills! :)

Play... You LOVE to play and you GRAB everything in sight!  You have started lunging forward to reach things, but are still not fond of being on your tummy.  You push up and have started rocking... but you don't last very long before your roll over.  We are working on getting your knees under your belly and to get you to rock more... I know you will be much happier on your belly when you discover you can scoot and crawl!  In time sweet girl... in time!
You are the sweetest and happiest baby girl and it is pure joy to be your momma.  You love your big brother and always keep your eyes on him watching his every move.  Your sweet giggles and noises are music to our house and your wet kisses are the BEST.  You are beautiful inside and out and we are so thankful of your sweet life.  Can't wait to see more of your personality come out in the weeks to come!  We love you to the moon and beyond!

Happy 5 Months Caroline Grace!

Happy 5 Months baby girl!
I can't believe you are almost a half year old!  Where has the time gone!  As for your happenings this last months... here we go!!!!
Sleep... Well we were doing great... then the 4 month sleep regression hit!  You started waking up once sometimes twice in the middle of the night to eat... you would go right back to sleep no problem in 10 minute or less, but it was hard on momma!  But right when you turned 5 months something changed and you are now back to sleeping all night!  Down for bed around 8pm and a dream-feed at 10:30pm and sleep till 6:30-7ish and nurse for 10 minutes then back to sleep till 8-8:30am.  Momma is thankful the sleep regression is over (for now of course)!  As for naps... you were napping like a champ but this last month you have become quite the little power napper... probably due to the time we are in the car taking brother to and from school and to his other activities... ummm second child problems I guess.  But you are still sleeping a totally of 15.5 hours a day which is right where you need to be.
Food... 100% mommas milk.  I tried to give you formula this last month but you wanted NOTHING to do with it!  Even turned your nose up at me and looked at me like was from Mars!  Will keep trying but no go on the formula right now.  We did start you on rice cereal and you have really liked it.  You have it for lunch and dinner and have begun to really get hungry for it!  Can't wait to start veggies and fruits next month!  I know you will love them and eat them right up!

Play... You LOVE to play... you have really begun to pull on thing and grab them and bring them to your mouth.  Not sure if that means you are teething because I don't see anything, but you love to put your toys in your mouth and suck on them.  You are working on sitting up little bits at a time, but we still have a lot of work to go.  You still love your activity  mat and momma roo.  Your new toy this month has been the exo-sauser... You have really enjoyed standing up in it and playing with all the different toys and exploring your new surroundings!
Caroline, you are the sweetest most laid back baby I have ever know.  You love your big brother and momma like crazy and we love you right back!  Your sweet smile and beautiful eyes light up a room like I've never seen.  Everyone always comments on how pretty and beautiful you are... and we agree whole heartily.  Your sweet giggles bring so much joy to our house and complete our family!  We love yo so much and are so proud of you!  XOXOXO Momma and Daddy.

Happy 3 Months Caroline Grace!

Happy 3 Months sweet baby girl!!!  It has been a quick and busy 3rd month for you and our family!  You have really come into your own this month and showing us more and more of your sweet personality.
Your stats... You weigh 12.1 pounds as of Friday when you went to the dr. for your first sick visit.  You have had a stuffy nose and we wanted to make sure it wasn't anything more serious.  You are growing perfectly and we are amazed everyday by Gods provision in your life.
Your health... major praise report this month... we finally received the "ALL CLEAR" report of your Tyrosinemia.  After a month plus of vitamin C supplements the levels are now in the "normal" range and we couldn't be more thankful!  Other than that just a stuffy noes... you hate it when we have to suck your nose, but are much happier when you can breath normally when it is over.
You eat... 100% mommas milk.  You take a bottle and nurse and are happy with either.  We have moved you to the medium flow nipple and you gulp down your bottles much faster now!  You are taking ~25-27 ounces a day with 6-7 feedings.  Your dream feed has really helped this month as you have officially started sleeping through the night!!!  YAHOOO!!!  Your schedule go a little something like this... up around 7-7:15am and nurse, then awake an hour- an hour and a half then nap till 10 and wake up and take a 5 oz bottle, then awake another hour and nap around 11, then awake around 1 and take another 5 oz bottle, and wake for 1-2 hours then a short nap then eat another 5 oz bottle around 4ish, another short nap and cluster nursed feed around 6 then another short nap then pj's and 5 oz bottle around 8:15 then in bed by 9 and asleep shortly after.  Then daddy does your dream feed around 10:30 and you typically take 2-3 oz. and sleep till 7 the next morning!    On average you are sleeping 15 hours and 14 minutes a day and awake 8 hours and 45 minutes.  We know this from the wonderful tracker we use to track your sleep and feedings!
You love to... eat, sleep, smile, look at the fan and lights and watch your brother play!  You have also enjoyed tummy time this month since you can hold your head up and can do mini pushups!  You also love to lay on your back and swat at the toys on your play mat and in your bouncy seat.  It is fun to watch brother encourage you to "Get that soccer ball" as he says!!!  So much joy for this mommas heart!

Big happenings your third month include... first stuffy noes, first time for daddy to travel for work, first family outing to Touch a Truck, and first Valentines Day!
Caroline, this month has been so special for us.  We have really seen your personality and spark come out the past few weeks and cannot wait to see more smiles and giggles in the weeks and month and years to come.  Happy 3 Months to our sweet Caroline.

Happy 15 Months Benjamin!!!

Happy 15 Months sweet boy!  Time is just going by and you are growing up!!!  You are not our baby anymore... you are an exploring, adventuresome, dare devil (at times), sweet, silly, dancing, smart, happy toddler boy!!!

It has been a while since I last posted about your happenings so let's get to it!

Your stats... You are 33.25 inches tall and weigh 24 pounds 14oz.  Which is 95% for height and 55% for weight.  You are one tall and solid boy!!

You eat... almost everything and will try anything!  The last 3 months you have tried a lot of new things... some include crabs, shrimp, green olives, corn dogs, hot dogs, yogurt covered pretzels and popsicles!!!  You also love limes and lemons... We know they are not good for your teeth so we try not to give them to you too often... but when you do have them your facial expressions are priceless!

You love to... play with your toys, read books, dance, swim, play at the splash pad, go to the zoo, make animal noises, listen to music, hammer on your tool box, play outside, go for walks and many many more things!  Your favorite song right now is Coldplay, A Sky Full of Stars.  It is so fun to watch you dance to that song!!!  It is like you and Chris Martin are in your own world!!!  Your favorite book right now is Giraffes Can't Dance.  You love to point out the turtles, lions, monkeys and other animals.  Your favorite summertime activity this far is anything to do with water!  You love your puddle jumper swim vest and enjoy jumping in to the pool... even when we aren't ready... I did mention you are a bit of a dare devil right!

Your sleep schedule... has been better, but since we have been back from our trip to San Francisco you have been waking up a bit on the early side!  You have been waking up around 6-7am then come snuggle with me and fall back asleep till 8-9am.  And typical nap from 2-3:30pm and go to bed between 8-9pm... lately it is closer to 8... which might be why you are getting up earlier.  I know with consistency we will get you back on track... because this momma loves her sleep just like you do sweet boy!!

You are running all over the place!!!  You have jumped a few times, and it is incredibly fun to watch!  Your energy and curiosity are contagious.  I love our dance parties, playing chase, playing catch and kicking the soccer ball with you and am so blessed to share life with you each and everyday!  Watching you and daddy play bring joy to my heart and a smile to my face!  Your bond and love for each other is precious.  You are still a momma boy at heart but love your daddy and look forward to him coming home everyday!  Your 30+ word vocabulary is expanding so fast; you are like a sponge and you pick up new words everyday!  I am soooo incredibly proud to be your momma and love teaching you new things.

Big happenings the last 3 months include... weaning off the bottle and breast milk to sippy cups and whole milk, week long trip to San Francisco that included a 4+hour flight that you did AMAZING on by the way, enjoyed your first golf outing with daddy and loved riding on the golf cart, watched fireworks for the first time (not so into them the first time, but liked them the second... but then hated them on the 4th of July... we were really close to them and I think they were way too loud for you), had your first BIG fall and boo boo... you fell off a step at the splash pad and scratched your face up really bad :(, first haircut, first trip to the Children's Museum, first trip to Moody Gardens and now have a total of 8 teeth!  Unfortunately you are the slowest teether ever... :/

Benjamin, you are one amazing, joyful, and perfect boy and we are incredibly blessed to call your ours!  Happy 15 Months!
