Happy Birthday sweet baby girl!!! And Merry Christmas!!! It is hard to believe you are already one month old! Where has the time gone?!?!?!? We are so in love with you and can't imagine life without you.
Your stats... You are 18 3/4 inches tall and weigh 7.14 pounds. Which is 35% for height and 10% for weight. Which means you have gained 1 pound 8 oz since we brought you home a little over two weeks ago. You have officially outgrown your premie and newborn clothes and premie and newborn diapers! You are a growing girl and we are loving watching you grow.
Your health... you are a strong, healthy sweet baby girl! Even though you decided to make your entrance into the world 5 weeks early you are one strong girl. Your abnormal newborn screening tests have all come back and they are showing they were false positives. So we are praising God for good news there! We should have the final OK in a week or so and pray they come back favorable as well! As for crying... you don't really cry very much at all, knock on wood. Just when you are super hungry. You however are a very loud sleeper! You make lots of sighs, mones and groans in your sleep which keep daddy awake... but nothing too bad! We say you are just finding your voice!
You eat... 100% mommas milk. You take a bottle and nurse and are happy with either. When we brought you home you were taking 3 oz. of milk every three hours and we have gradually increased you to 4 oz. every three hours and during the night you have given us a handful of 4+ stretches! Which we are very grateful for!
You love to... eat, sleep and watch brother play!!! You love to be swaddled and cuddled on momma or daddies chest. You also love your Momaroo! This is where you enjoy being entertained by your brother! He is just as smitten with you are daddy and me and loves to check on you and make sure you are taken care of!
Your sleep schedule... since your stay in the NICU, you have stayed on the same schedule, which we are very thankful for. You eat at 8, 11, 2, and 5... repeat! You nap in between each feeding and take a longer nap in the morning between the 8-11 feeding and another longer nap between the 2-5 feeding! Which momma really loves, because that is when brother naps as well.
When it comes to play time you are becoming more and more alert. You love to lay on your activity mat and have really come to like tummy time. We are working on your neck and back muscles to help you build a strong neck to support you!
Big happenings your first month include... an 11 day stay in the NICU, coming home on December 6th, lots of snuggles and love from mommy, daddy and brother, first bath, gammie and gamma's first visit, meeting mommom Baker for the first time, first time to visit Santa, first Christmas!
Caroline, this month has been the hardest and most special month of our lives. We couldn't feel more blessed from God above for your little life and the special blessing you have already given our family. You have completed our family and we look forward to the many months and years ahead to see what God has planned for your sweet life. Happy 1 Month to our sweet Caroline.
